What is the CTET Exam?

The complete name of CTET is Central Teacher Eligibility Test. The CTET Exam invites aspirants from different fields to enter the field of teaching as a profession. CTET exam is initiated by the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE).

It is one of the entrance examinations conducted continuously every year to find suitable aspirants to teach students from class 1 to class 8 in various reputed schools and institutions like Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan (KVS) and Navodaya Vidyalaya Samiti (NVS).

CTET 2022 Exam will be conducted in two sessions Paper 1 and Paper 2. Aspirants who want to teach classes 1 to 5 will have to appear for CTET Paper 1 Exam and aspirants who want to teach classes 6 to 8 will have to appear for Paper 2. CTET 2022 Application Form Date

The CTET Online Application Form will start from the month of June. After filling application form, the exam will be taken in the month of July. CTET Application Fee 2022

The CTET application fee differs according to the category the aspirants belong to. Moreover, the application fee may also vary according to the number of CTET papers for which one applies. Child Development and Pedagogy: Addressing learners from diverse backgrounds including the disadvantaged and disadvantaged Addressing the needs of children with learning difficulties.

Language Comprehension: Reading unseen passages – two passages one prose or drama, and one poem with important questions on comprehension, inference, grammar knowledge, and verbal ability.

Mathematics: Number System, Knowing our Numbers, Playing with Numbers, Whole Numbers, Negative Numbers and Integers, Fractions, Algebra, Introduction to Algebra.

Science: Food, Sources of food, Components of food, Cleaning food, Materials, Materials of daily use, The World of the Living, Natural Phenomena.

CTET 2022 Educational Qualification

There are two Papers in each CTET Examination:

  • Paper-I: For Class I to V (Primary)
  • Paper-II: For Class VI to VIII (Elementary)

If an aspirant intends to teach Classes from I to VIII, he/she has to appear in both the Papers.

Educational Qualification for Classes 1 to 5 (Primary Stage)

  • Senior Secondary (or equivalent) with at least 50% marks (Fifty Percent marks) and passed or appearing in the final year of a 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education (OR).
  • Senior Secondary (or equivalent) with at least forty-five percent marks (45% marks) and passed or appearing in the final year of 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education as per NCTE Regulations, 2002 (OR)
  • Senior Secondary (or equivalent) with at least fifty percent marks (50% marks) and passed or appearing in the final year of 4-year Bachelor of Elementary Education (B.El.Ed) (OR)
  • Senior Secondary (or equivalent) with at least fifty percent marks (50% marks) and passed or appearing in the final year of a 2-year Diploma in Education (Special Education)* (OR)
  • Graduation and passed or appearing in the final year of two-year Diploma in Elementary Education OR
  • Post Graduation or equivalent grade with a minimum of fifty-five percent marks (55% marks) and three years of integrated B.Ed.-M.Ed.

Educational Qualification for Classes 6 to 8 (Elementary Stage)

  • Graduation and passed or appearing in the final year of 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education (OR)
  • Graduation with at least fifty percent marks (50% marks) and passed or appearing in 1-year Bachelor in Education (B.Ed) (OR)
  • Graduation with at least forty-five percent marks (45% marks) and passed or appearing in 1-year Bachelor in Education (B.Ed) as per NCTE Regulations OR
  • Senior Secondary (or equivalent) with at least fifty percent marks (50% marks) and passed or appearing in the final year of 4-year Bachelor in Elementary Education (B.El.Ed) OR

  • Candidates belonging to SC/ ST/ OBC/ PH candidates will be given a relaxation of 5% in the qualifying marks.
  • Aspirants pursuing any teacher education course (recognized by NCTE or RCI) will be eligible to appear in CTET.

Online uploading of scanned Images

  • The size of the scanned image must be between 10 to 100 kb
  • The image dimensions of the photograph must be 3.5 cm (width) x 4.5 cm (height)
  • The size of the scanned signature must be between 3KB to 30 KB
  • The image dimensions of the signature must be 3.5 cm (length) x 1.5 cm (height)

CTET Registration 2022: Imporrtant Point

  • Participants have to provide their correct mobile number and email id while filling out the CTET 2022 application form Online.
  • Aspirants of CTET are advised to keep a copy of the filled application form along with a copy of the e-challan for future use/reference.

CTET 2022 Eligibility Criteria

Persons having minimum qualifications for teaching staff as per the following are eligible to appear in CTET:

National Council for Teacher Education (Prescribing Minimum Qualifications for Persons to be Recruited as Education Teachers and Physical Education Teachers in Pre-Primary, Primary, Upper Primary, Secondary, Senior Secondary or Intermediate Schools or Colleges) Regulations as amended and notified from time to time.

The minimum qualification prescribed by the appropriate Government in the Recruitment Rules for Teachers where the School is situated or the Recruitment Rules for Teachers of Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan or Navodaya Vidyalaya Samiti.

The candidate should fulfill his/her eligibility before applying and if he/she is not eligible to apply as per the given eligibility criteria then he/she will be personally responsible. It is to be noted that if a candidate has been allowed to appear in the CTET (Central Teacher Eligibility Test), it does not mean that the candidate’s eligibility has been verified. It does not vest any right with the candidate for appointment. Final verification of eligibility will be done by the concerned recruiting agency/appointing authority.

Nature and Standard of Questions

  • The test items on Child Development and Pedagogy will focus on the educational psychology of teaching and learning relevant to the age group of 6 to 11 years. They will focus on understanding the characteristics & needs of diverse learners, interacting with learners, and the characteristics and qualities of a good learning facilitator.
  • Test items in the Language-I paper will focus on related competencies through instruction.
  • Test items in Language II will focus on elements of language, communication, and comprehension abilities.
  • The language-II exam paper will be in a language other than Language I. A candidate can choose any one language as Language I and the other as Language II from the available language options and will need to specify it on the confirmation page.
  • Test items in Mathematics & Environmental Studies will focus on concepts, problem-solving abilities, and pedagogical understanding and applications of the subjects. In all these subject areas, the test items will be distributed equally in different divisions of the syllabus of that subject as prescribed by NCERT for classes 1 to 5.
  • The questions in the Paper-I ctet exam will be based on the topics prescribed in the NCERT syllabus for classes I to V but their difficulty standard, as well as linkages, can be up to the secondary level.

Nature and Standard of Questions
